Although its heart is in the right place (just about), and Rudd gives an admirably restrained performance, this thoroughly juvenile comedy - following a pair of emotionally stunted thirty-something men, sentenced to 150 hours mentoring for an altercation with a parking official - is a film that never really exists within the real world, and quickly descends into sentimental nonsense, but for much of its running time is amiable enough.
