A young Georgian immigrant chances upon a set of mysterious instructions that promise the possibility of instant riches, and, with him recently losing out on a big payday, he follows them and stumbles into a dangerous world of underground gambling in Babluani’s sub-Bressonian curio that fails as both thriller and allegory, but, with some starkly attractive photography and a lovely sense of pacing, just about manages to hold the attention.
