Altman’s cracking film, a wonderfully jaundiced, satirical look at the politics and back-stage shenanigans of a Hollywood studio, with a perfunctory murder/blackmail MacGuffin of a plot, is an eye-opening and formally exciting if slightly cold work. Iain.Stott
