Siegel's film is an entertaining adaptation of Jack Finney’s much filmed (officially and unofficially) novel The Body Snatchers (1955), in which a small town doctor stumbles upon a subtle alien invasion; but, as fun as it is, it’s an adaptation hampered by clumsy, expository dialogue and unwieldy allegory.
