Should you be in the right frame of mind, this whimsical, child’s-eye view of Parisian life, in which Tautou’s adorable ingénue acts as karmic angel to those around her, is likely to seem every bit as delightful and life-affirming as a lover’s kiss, but should you be in a more cynical mood, Jeunet’s distinctive work is more likely to prove interminable.
