Marking’s fascinating Afghanistan-set documentary, chronicling the progress of a number of contestant’s on a reality-TV tinged musical talent show (one that retains all of the qualities that make its western equivalents so distasteful), paints an eye-opening portrait of a country in the process of monumental change.
